HoND: Sway

I’m actually really, really proud of this. I worked really hard on the pose, and I actually cheated with her right leg because the angle was bugging the crap out of me—and as a plus, now you get to see more of Nicolae’s sexy leg. Mmmm. I’m not happy with how the skirt ended up, but hey, what can you do? And something about Nicolae’s right leg…nyeh. I just couldn’t get it skinny enough. And the boy is skinny, so with all due credit to me, I don’t usually draw skinny people. I draw curvy chicks and muscular dudes, but skinny and bony people are a mystery to me. So are legs, lately. I really hate drawing full-bodies because they always turn out awkward. Bah. Whatever.

These are my original characters from a HoND fanfic I’m working on. It’s kind of sue-centric on one hand, but on the other hand, both the mains and the love interests are OCs, so nobody rapes Clopin or Frollo or Quasi—or even Phoebus, whom for some reason you never hear about in fanficverse. But anyway. The only reason my OC doesn’t end up with Clopin is because this is a spinoff of princessbee’s HoND universe on FF.net—and her OC, Herlikin, already ended up with Clopin.

The story begins about at the time where Frollo is burning Paris in search of Esmerelda. My character, Luludja, a gypsy from elsewhere in Franch (I haven’t unkinked the details yet, get off my back) managed to escape when her family’s caravan was seized by the Palace’s guards, only to have a squadron of them pursue her. She runs for dear life to Notre Dame, only to be cornered and conveniently not let in. Just when all hope seems lost (as it always does, no?), a MYSTERIOUS BLACK-CLAD FIGURE SAVES HER LIFE. GASP.

I told you it was a Sue story.

Anyway. Thus is Nicolae introduced. Nicolae is my interpretation of Isabelle’s bastard child—those of you who have read her fanfic (which is none of you so far, I presume) from sixteen or so years before. I’ll explain that, too. Isabelle, in princessbee’s fanfic, was this bitch love interest of Clopin, who ended up later betraying the gypsies by becoming Frollo’s mistress and relaying information of the Court of Miracles to him and having his illegitimate love child, later claiming it to be Clopin’s. Isabelle ends up hanging, but her partner in crime (not Frollo, just another white gypsy kid) has the child shoved upon him and is exiled. I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to the half-Romani child in later years, and thus this story was born.

So. Anyway. Nicolae and Luludja are the characters who adopt the personalities of Austin and I. Again, I told you it was a Sue. If you don’t like it, leave.

I don’t know how long I’ll be inspired to write for this, but it’s incredibly relaxing to just be able to sit down and write OC fanfiction without having to worry about deadlines or editing or proofreading so much as I go along, because I doubt I’ll ever post it on FF.net—I’d have to get Bee’s permission first, since Nicolae is, in some bizarre way, her character.

Wow, long description for a sketch that’s not even that fantastic.

Oh, and there’s two metaphors in here that you wouldn’t be able to guess unless you knew the situation between the two of us—and even if you did, I’d be surprised if anyone could pick them out.
